AnnotationThis survey, based on a sample of more than 3,000 UNISON members who are home care workers, had three main objectives. First, to establish current pay and employment conditions, and to identify the impact and range of recent local changes to conditions. Second, to clarify the extent of changes to responsibilities for homecare workers and their views on these changes. Third, to give homecare workers the opportunity to contribute directly to development of the union's campaigns and policies. Information on two specific problems was also obtained as part of the survey: the incidence of back pain; and safety of the working environment. (RH).
