| Annotation | In part replaces the former statistical series, "Community care: day and domiciliary personal social services for adults, England". It provides information on services purchased or provided by local authorities for people living in the community, covering home help and home care services; but meals delivered to people's homes or served at luncheon clubs and day centres are not included. The information collected relates to a sample week in September and gives details on contact hours of home help/care and the number of households (not individuals) receiving these services. A summary of the findings is also included, (originally published as a Statistical Press Notice). There were changes made to the HH1 form used by local authorities to collect this year's data and so care should be taken with interpreting detailed trends since 1992, when the form was first introduced. However, there are summary tables given showing trends from 1992. It is now only available online from the Department of Health website. (KJ). |
