AnnotationAs well as reporting people's experiences of crime, the British Crime Survey (BCS) covers other topics. Some of those interviewed in the 2000 BCS were asked about their community and voluntary activities. These Findings report results on six categories of activities: helping people directly; attending groups; helping groups or organisations; serving in a public capacity; attending public meetings or participating in consultations; and working with other people to tackle local issues. Rates of participation are examined by sex, age, ethnic group, location and length of residence. (RH).
