AnnotationThe psychological health of staff in private and NHS care facilities for people with dementia has not been evaluated. However, staff turnover is high, and mental health could be a contributory factor. This short article outlines findings on a comparison of the prevalence of psychological distress among professional staff in the private sector and the NHS, whereby the relationship between coping strategies and staff turnover was assessed.
