Annotation | Joint Reviews provide an independent assessment of how well the public is being served by social services locally. This review of Essex County Council excludes Thurrock and Southend, which became unitary authorities in 1996. Overall, there are some good services, but older people are affected by problems such as delayed discharge from hospital, and waiting lists for assessment and services. The report notes recruitment problems and unfilled vacancies. Examples of good practice include an occupational therapy (OT) good practice guide. (RH). |
