Annotation | The health of older people in London may suffer in their efforts to get to health services. Even with relatively short distances to health services in London, journeys can be difficult. This report brings together the results of interviews with 64 older people in two inner and two outer London Boroughs about their health journeys. The report also covers transport providers' perspectives. The report is targeted at NHS planners, commissioners and providers, local authorities, Transport for London, and the government. It aims to stimulate a "joined-up" approach to the subject - also relevant to other parts of the country - and urges the production of new and revised government guidance for patient transport services (last issued in 1991).
