Annotation | Although the Nutrition Facts Label has been required on food packages in the US since 1994, little research has been conducted to determine the ability of consumers of any age to locate and use the information. The potential usefulness of nutrition labelling in helping older people to identify foods that can promote more successful ageing and safeguard their health was the impetus for this study, which was designed to investigate older women's ability to locate and use nutrient information on labels and to accurately interpret nutrient claims.
