Annotation | The Benefits Agency (BA) Better Government for Older People (BGOP) sought to complement the BGOP programme developing an understanding of how to improve front line services for pensioners, and to assess the practicality of combining BA services with those of other local service providers. This report evaluates the eight BA prototypes established in Bolton, Devon, Harrow, Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, Newcastle, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Stirling, and Wolverhampton. Their aims follow similar themes to provide older people with: clearer, more accessible information; simpler access to services; improved linkages between service providers; and more say in the type of service they require. Research focused on service delivery themes rather than the prototypes. (RH). |
