Annotation | Making time to touch base with ourselves - to understand more about what we bring to any relationship - is an essential part of positive person work. This article is the fifth in a series that considers barriers to person-centred care. Those who undertake any kind of caring work or role are often unaware of dealing with their own psychological needs: this "co-dependency" must be recognised. Supervision, "self work", and evaluations such as the Bradford Dementia Group provide examples of how psychological barriers can be lowered. (RH). |
