Annotation	This data is released on a monthly basis, as a two page news release by the ONS. It details the provisional number of deaths at all ages in England and Wales for the specified monthly period. Deaths for certain selected causes are also given. The date of the next publication is always published on each release. From January 2001, mortality statistics in England and Wales will be coded to the Tenth Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), replacing the ninth revision which has been in use since 1979.
