Annotation | The issues raised in the National Council on Ageing and Older People's proposals on quality in long-term care in Ireland have been on the agenda in England and Wales for some time. Gillian Dalley, Director of the Centre for Policy on Ageing (CPA) describes the process of developing and implementing standards that ensure a minimum quality standard of care for older people in long-term residential care in England and Wales, and the role played by the CPA.
