Annotation | Age Concern welcomes the proposed complaints procedure, particularly introduction of a 14-day time limit for dealing with the first, local resolution stage. ACE's main concerns relate to the areas where social services departments (SSDs) interface with other organisations, which could become increasingly complex. Service users may face increasing difficulties in knowing who is responsible for ensuring that their needs are met. This response to the consultation covers the role of advocacy, and specific problems with consultation in complaints procedures. (RH). |
