Annotation | The functional-age model of intergenerational treatment is a multi-faceted theoretical framework for social workers interested in clinical practice with older people and their families. Since the model was first developed, societal and theoretical forces have profoundly and dramatically challenged the social work profession, which have stimulated its reformulation. This article describes factors leading to the model's revision, summarising its practice components. It explains how the revised model will help social workers in their pursuit of a strengths-based and cultural competence practice. (RH). |
