Annotation | Genetic information may be defined as any information about a person's genetic makeup. The Human Genetics Commission is looking at the uses of personal genetic information, to see what, if anything, should be done to address people's concerns about possible abuses of such information. The Working Group on the Storage, Protection and Use of Genetic Information has identified a range of issues for consultation and response. These concern: consent to genetic testing; personal genetic information in research; issues of ownership and property; rights to privacy; protecting confidentiality with regard to insurance and employment; and personal genetic information in forensic databases.
