Annotation | Analysing one's personal quality of life should lead to an awareness of how important it is to attend to residents' personal and spiritual values and quality of life. A guide on the teaching of spiritual values published by the Office of Standards in Education (Ofsted) in 1994 suggests four distinguishing elements as central to the concept of spirituality: reflection; attributing meaning to experience; the non-material dimension; and intimations of enduring reality. These are examined in turn. Both secular and religious homes need to pay attention to spiritual values in the help they give to residents. (RH). |
