AnnotationA qualitative study of written information to patients and their families conducted in the Day Care Units of two Specialist Palliative Care Units in Southampton and Portsmouth had two aims: to determine patients' perceptions of content and style; and to collaborate with older service users in developing guidelines for the production of written information. Responses to the three research questions are outlined. First, how do patients define what constitutes written information? Second, how do patients use written information? Third, what are the features of written information which patients describe as most or least useful in contributing to readability and comprehension? (RH).
