AnnotationA survey of 50 carers of people with dementia found that many wish for them to have active treatment in life-threatening situations. Carers' decisions are not strongly linked to disease parameters affecting quality of life. Improved discussion of end-of-life decisions and patient advocates may be helpful. (RH).
