Annotation | Since the NHS and Community Care Act 1990 came into force, guardianship has been used increasingly with older mentally disordered Scots. This study found that increased use of guardianship with mentally disordered older people is not explained by the use of orders to maintain them at home. It is likelier that the process of social work assessment required by the Act highlights more cases where guardianship could be used. (RH). |
