AnnotationCapacity building is a broad term referring to a range of activities and support which seeks to strengthen the capacity of organisations to deliver effective services. Capacity building is therefore central to the aim of HelpAge International (HAI) in improving the quantity and quality of development initiatives for older people worldwide. Its structure - a network of 500 members and partners - creates special opportunities to pool experience, learning and best practice around ageing and ageing issues. This paper summarises HAI's position, and outlines its agenda for action. (RH).
