Annotation | This is the third annual report of this body, set up in 1996, as a sub-group of the NHS Central Research and Development Committee. (This sub-group was known first of all as the Standing Advisory Group on Consumer Involvement). This Group aims to advise on how best to involve consumers in the R&D process, to improve the quality of research. Consumers are fully defined in the report but include organisations representing consumers' interests, as well as individuals. In 1999 a Support Unit for Consumers in NHS Research was established at The Help for Health Trust in Winchester. This annual report covers the financial year 1999/2000 and plans for the year 2000/2001. (KJ). |
