AnnotationFibromyalgia Syndrome (FMS) is a rheumatological condition found mostly in females. Incidence increases with age, and it occurs for example in more than 7% of 70-year-old women. The US Surgeon General has encouraged adults to become more physically active. As older women comprise a large proportion of participants in exercise programmes, it is important for activity directors to have a basic understanding of FMS and its implications for remaining physically active.
