Annotation | Patients and professionals have difficulty communicating with one another about prescriptions and alternative therapies. The author uses face-to-face ethnographic interviews, focus groups, and a survey to investigate and contrast 714 older people and their health professionals' perceptions and communication about the above-mentioned health products. Discussion focuses on mismatches in perceptions, information and communication about prescription misuses and alternative therapy use. Participants suggest changes and improvements in clinical practice. (RH). |
