Pagespp 41-48
KeywordsEmployment of older people ; Employment ; Ageism ; Luxembourg.
AnnotationBasic findings from the author's 1999 study, "Experiences of age discrimination in work and recruitment" are presented, in which the forms and extent of discrimination against older workers in Finland are examined. Her results show that age discrimination in recruitment is a more serious and important problem than age discrimination in work, and that the whole problem is challenging and difficult to solve. In trying to find solutions, it is essential to pay special attention to updating the education of older workers and older unemployed jobseekers. (RH).
