Annotation | ASTRID (A Social and Technological Response to meeting the needs of Individuals with Dementia and their carers) is a European initiative funded under the Telematics Programme of the European Union (EU). This guide considers the potential of assistive technology in contributing to the care of people with dementia in the community. It investigates current levels of technology provision for people with dementia and their carers, and suggests improvements and developments. The ASTRID Group's participants include the Dementia Services Development Centre, University of Stirling, working with organisations in Norway, the Netherlands and Ireland, and with Northamptonshire County Council Social Services Department as the project leader.
