AnnotationA five yearly cycle of Joint Reviews began in Wales in 1998. Their purpose is to provide an independent evaluation of how well local communities are served by councils' social services. This first summary of Joint Reviews in Wales draws out the key themes and messages from the first six councils reviewed. Findings are presented under the four areas considered by the reviews: meeting people's needs, shaping services, managing performance, and managing resources. The report's text is in English and Welsh. (RH).
