AnnotationThis is the second of this new annual series. The Performance Assessment Framework (PAF) is intended to be a set of indicators that provides information about performance across all of the councils in England alone. The document, which has been improved upon since last year, contains commentary (rationale for each indicator, social services objective, and full definition) and summary data for each of the indicators. Reference is made to the Key Indicators Graphical System (KIGS), which includes full local authority level PAF data, and allows the user to produce charts for any indicator and selection of authorities. Full details can be found at the website: www.doh.gov.uk/paf This circular should be cancelled on 31 December 2002. (KJ/RH).
