Annotation | In the last decade alone, Israel's over 65 population increased in absolute terms by 45%; nearly one fifth are new immigrants. Further growth in the over 65 population will continue to strain the capacities of Israel's health and social services. This article provides a critique of the country's healthcare system, family structure and support, community long-term care insurance (CTCI), attitudes toward life (and death), and education of geriatricians.
