Annotation | The relationship between perceived social support from families and mental well-being has been well-documented. However, surprisingly little research has examined the relationship between families and mental disorder in later life. Some papers in this issue of Aging & Mental Health illustrate how examining family structure and processes can contribute to a better understanding of problems faced by older people and for more successful treatment.
