Annotation | Spanish language voice-over is an effective means of developing educational videotapes for Spanish-speaking older people. This article describes the use of a voice-over method for translations of an anti-telemarketing fraud video for a target audience of older Mexican Americans with limited formal education. The committee method was used to translate the video script, and standard Spanish was emphasised in the translation. Postproduction editing was done using a personal computer with digital non-linear editing software. Evaluation by groups with target audience characteristics indicated that the translation was effective, and that the video successfully communicated information designed to present telemarketing fraud victimisation of older people.
