Annotation | A new questionnaire, the Knowledge of Memory Aging Questionnaire, assesses general knowledge of normal and pathological memory ageing for use with students, older adults and service providers who work with older people. The questionnaire consists of 28 true/false items covering a broad range of memory behaviours that are characteristic of normal age-related memory changes and abnormal memory deficits due to non-normative factors such as adult dementia. The procedures used in the development of the questionnaire and the results of four preliminary studies are described. Implications of these data for the design of educational courses for older people and service providers are considered. (RH). |
