Annotation | The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service developed and implemented "Healthy Living", an eight-session food and nutrition promotion course. The course was designed to provide Oklahoman over 55s with the knowledge and skills to apply the Food Guide Pyramid, Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and Nutrition Facts Label to food selection, preparation and safety practices. Significant improvements were observed in participants' food practices, leading to improvements in diet and nutrition and decreased risk of disease. (RH). |
