Annotation | In 1999, Help the Aged commissioned research on good practice in acute hospital care for older people. In the last of a four-part series, the author looks at the success of two acute medical wards at Kidderminster General Hospital, Worcestershire. One of the hospital's most striking features is its strong links with the surrounding community. This article focuses on themes developed in the research: partnerships in care, teamwork, developing staff, developing practice, leadership, and maintaining dignity. (RH). |
