Annotation | The aim of the conference was to stimulate a dialogue between older people and those planning their housing. Although delegates and speakers represented a wide range of different experience and expertise, there was consensus as to priorities: the importance of good housing design; finance, funding and grants; better information; quality of care; and more consultation. One of the key issues concerning older people was whether they should remain at home or decide to move to other accommodation. Older people were urged to get involved in local politics and policy making, to make local decision making more accountable. (RH). |
