Annotation | ASTRID (A Social and Technological Response to meeting the needs of Individuals with Dementia and their carers) is a European initiative funded under the Telematics Programme of the European Union (EU). It investigates the current levels of technology provision for people with dementia and their carers, and suggests improvements and developments. The ASTRID Group at the Dementia Services Development Centre, University of Stirling has produced a guide surveying the current use of assistive technology for people with dementia and their carers. This article introduces the issues, and provides examples of assistive technology. (RH). |
