Annotation | As the number of older people in long-term care settings has increased, so too have the numbers with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. This article provides US data with regard to percentages of residents with dementia having functional dependencies and problem behaviours, and with regard to criteria used by long-term care facilities for provision of dementia-sensitive care.
