AnnotationThis report, on the third Health Education Monitoring Survey (HEMS), explores how people's health and health behaviours relate to their demographic and socio-economic characteristics and to their social environment. Using simple summaries, charts and tables, topics covered include: health status, stress levels, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, diet, and physical activity. It also presents information on the changes since 1995 (the first survey) to a wide range of topics, and gives data on: knowledge of safer sex, attitudes towards using condoms, and sexual behaviour; and people's knowledge of how to avoid skin cancer and their behaviour in the sun.
