Annotation | New Deal is a key element of the Government's Welfare to Work strategy. It aims to give unemployed people new opportunities to study, train and gain work experience, to have the skills required by employers. The New Deal covers not only younger unemployed people, but since April 2000 also includes long-term unemployed people aged 50 and over who want to work. This pamphlet briefly outlines why and how employers should be involved in recruitment of New Deal jobseekers. (RH). |
