Annotation"The agenda for the age" contains the final key policy recommendations emerging from the Debate of the Age. The Agenda has been informed by recommendations from specialist reports and wide ranging discussion from across the Debate's five core themes: the future of the built environment; the future of health and care; values and attitudes in an ageing society; paying for age; and future work and lifestyles. One of the main calls emerging from the Debate is for greater co-ordination and integration of planning and delivery of services across disciplines, professions and Government departments, to meet the complex needs of people in an ageing society. Consequently, adoption of the following key principles is recommended: inclusivity; choice and personal autonomy; participation; equality of opportunity and access; and intergenerational relationships. In considering paying for age, issues around income in later life (and eliminating poverty) and the funding of care in the future are discussed. (RH).
