Annotation | This poster accompanies Health Service Circular 2000/025. The Human Rights Act comes into effect on 2 October 2000. The poster sets out in full the rights as drafted in the European Convention on Human Rights in 1950. The 1998 Act makes this Convention a part of the UK law, which means people can use the UK courts to enforce their rights, rather than go to Strasbourg. This poster is aimed at all those working for public authorities to aid their understanding of these rights in the workplace. (KJ). |
