Annotation | One of the main changes in pension provision is the introduction of the stakeholder pension. Although primarily targeted at middle-range earners who are not members of a company pension scheme and not making any other provision for retirement, stakeholder pensions are also expected to appeal to those on higher incomes. Following a detailed programme of consumer research, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) in conjunction with the Department of Social Security (DSS) and the pensions industry has developed stakeholder pension decision trees - a series of flow charts and supporting introductory text. This document summarises the findings of the qualitative and quantitative research undertaken, and the way in which the findings have led to the current design of decision trees. (RH). |
