AnnotationThe purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well the people of Staffordshire are being served by their social services. The review considers how services are arranged for individual people; how the care needs of the population are planned for; and how well available resources are being used. Users' and carers' views were also sought. The review found that Staffordshire offers a good range of information to service users and carers. While in-house day services, residential and home care are of high quality, the Authority has experienced problems with externally provided domiciliary care. Key areas identified as priorities for action include: developing a strategic commissioning approach; management information; and creating partnerships with users, carers and the independent sector.
