AnnotationThe Better Government for Older People (BGOP) Programme is a nationwide action research programme launched in 1998 which aims to improve public services to older people. The Programme, part of the Modernising Government initiative, works through 28 local pilot partnerships and a learning network of 170 local authority areas that provide services to more than two thirds of the UK population. This report provides a critical commentary on the BGOP Programme from the perspective of the Older People's Advisory Group. Two additional publications are linked to this report: `All our futures', which provides an overview of the BGOP Programme, and `Making a difference', which contains a more detailed evaluation of the Programme.
