AnnotationThe Better Government for Older People (BGOP) Programme is a nationwide action research programme launched in 1998 which aims to improve public services to older people. The Programme, part of the Modernising Government initiative, works through 28 local pilot partnerships and a learning network of 170 local authority areas that provide services to more than two thirds of the UK population. This report provides a detailed evaluation of the BGOP Programme. The companion volume, `All our futures', presents the key findings from the evaluation, and the third volume, Our present for the future, presents the perspective and recommendations of the Older People's Advisory Group. (AKM).
