Annotation | "A happier old age" was prepared by the Department of Health and Social Security (DHSS) in June 1978 as a document for discussion. Age Concern Croydon distributed copies of questions to older Croydon residents for their comments; 703 replies were received. Comments and recommendations are made on the following: retirement age; pensions and supplementing income; housing; aids to daily living, and access to health and social services; advice and information; future policies; and transport. Older people should be given every support in maintaining independence for as long as possible, and be assured that relevant help is available when necessary. (RH). |
