AnnotationA MORI survey was commissioned by NIACE with support from the Department of Employment for the 1994 Adult Learners' Week, to find out people's intentions of taking up courses in the next three years. This is a report on results from the survey questionnaire: who participates, their motivations, levels of satisfaction, and views on fees and study costs. Previous similar surveys had excluded older people no longer in the workforce. The present survey observes that little is being done to support pensioners in learning skills for retirement, given the emphasis on courses leading to qualifications or for work-related skills.
