Annotation | The social security programmes that have become widely established in many countries vary greatly in their design features, and invite questions regarding their differences. 164 programmes are assessed on three design dimensions: benefit eligibility; qualifying eligibility criteria; and benefit provision. The analysis shows that the best designed old-age programmes are found in Western Europe and Australasia. (RH). |
