Annotation | The Bill's purpose is to amend the National Health Service (Primary Care) Act 1997, to prohibit the refusal or delay of treatment or the provision of an inferior standard of care on the basis of age. If enacted, it would also establish a committee to enquire into the extent of age discrimination in the provision of health services. Paul Marsden's Private Member's Bill is supported by MPs from all parties; the provisional date of its Second Reading Debate is 21 July 2000. (RH). |
