Annotation | Ageing in place and universal design concern the inclusion - or efforts to include - disabled people into mainstream life. In the US, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) has dealt with workplace issues of access, and continues to influence and support design for inclusion and accessibility, both in the workplace and at home. Contributors to this issue of Physical & Occupational Therapy in Geriatrics discuss how various forms of home modification can help older people to live independently. Occupational therapists have a role in collaborating with their clients. (RH). |
