AnnotationSkilled nursing care facilities have traditionally been medically driven. However, with the increasing concerns for the quality of life as well as quality of care for residents of long-term care facilities, psychosocial and social work methodologies take on increased importance. This paper looks at the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, and suggests that it can be very helpful in this changing and emerging process by recognising and implementing a social work perspective.
