AnnotationThe ageing population in the US is growing to increasingly larger proportions, and the need for progressive mental health policy and services for older people is a function of the rapidly growing older population. Lack of attention to mental health needs of older people, particularly frail older people, is reflected in the dearth of education, literature, and services in this area. This study examined the influence of psychosocial constructs on well-being in a sample of 79 low-income, frail older persons. Statistical models indicated that several psychosocial constructs were significantly associated with well-being among the participants. Results have relevance for social work mental health service delivery and policy development for frail older people. (AKM).
